Kawa — Peter Wittner & Ata Macias
Kawa (japanese 川, for River), an exclusive sparkling wine (2013 season) commissioned by sommelier Peter Wittner and designer Ata Macias. Kawa has been laboriously manufactured by traditional bottle fermentation (Champagne process) at the renowned Raumland champagne house: Resting for six full years is the secret of its extraordinary charming mousseux and creamy texture. As sommelier Peter Wittner characterises Kawa, this Rheinhessen sparkling wine is defined by a salmon like colour, clearly accented red fruits notes (strawberry & red currant), with its taste accented by autolysis, and rich notes of toast and brioche.
Ata Macias, supported by Frederik Sutter, completes Kawa by creating a cameo of six famous Robert Johnson typography posters as bottle labels, turning the bottles into design objects. Although the bottles may be empty at some point, their timeless design is here to stay at your discretion.
Limited edition of 500 boxes at three bottles each, including a handprinted and signed DIN A4 poster. Please note: All boxes are randomly mixed, we are unable to serve specific orders in regards to the label designs.
